Quartering Act

By:Nolan

After the French and Indian war the British left soldiers in the colonies to protect the settlers from Indians or Spanish settlers in Florida. the British government thought the settlers would be happy and pay for the soldiers stay. Parliament named the law the Quartering Act because the settlers were ordered to provide "quarters" for the soldiers. The settlers were also ordered to supply them with food, fuel, candles, and transportation. The colonist were very angry because they didn't want anyone just to walk into their house and just take the stuff they use to survive. So a lot of the settlers treated the soldiers very badly.
